A longtime script supervisor who worked on popular Hollywood movies and shows, including the TV series The Walking Dead, was killed in a hit-and-run crash. Authorities say the driver was seen walking away from the scene carrying his golf clubs.

On Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 1, just after 5 p.m., Buck Rollins of Atlanta, Ga., 31, was driving a Hyundai Elantra westbound on Northside Parkway NW when he lost control and hit a Toyota Prius that was crossing the intersection on Mount Paran Road NW, according to the Atlanta Police Department news release on Sept. 10.

Authorities say Rollins was driving 90 miles per hour in a 45 mph zone when he went over the curb. His car launched into the air and struck the Prius, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by PEOPLE. The affidavit states the car was going 91 mph at the time of impact.

Amy Blanc Lacy, 62, who was sitting in the backseat on the driver’s side of the Prius, was critically injured. She was taken to a local hospital and later died from her injuries after being removed from life support on Friday, Sept. 5.

According to IMDB, Lacy worked on shows including The Walking Dead (2010–2020), Halt and Catch Fire (2014), and most recently, The Great Lillian Hall (2024).

The driver of the Prius, her son Oliver Lacy, 23, and another son, Adrian Lacy, 25, were also hospitalized for their injuries.

After hitting the Prius, Rollins continued driving on Mount Paran Road and stopped near the Interstate 75 bridge, the affidavit states. He was captured on video taking his golf clubs out of the car and “walking away casually from the scene of the accident.” Two days later, authorities say Rollins told them he had a seizure and walked home.

He reportedly said he didn’t know why he left the scene and that he had been golfing before the accident. Data from the car’s airbag system shows Rollins allegedly removed his foot from the accelerator and began braking 2.5 seconds before hitting the Prius. The affidavit says this raises questions about his claim of having a seizure.

The Atlanta Police Department says Rollins surrendered to officers and was arrested. He faces charges including first-degree homicide by vehicle, hit and run, reckless driving, and speeding.

Family and friends are mourning Lacy’s death. She was laid to rest in an eco-friendly burial on Wednesday, Sept. 10. Her family also shared that she was an organ donor, according to Fox 5.

A GoFundMe set up to help her family said, “Amy Lacy was a radiant and beautiful presence in the Film Community, touching the lives of so many. Amy raised three wonderful children, filling their lives with joy, laughter, and dance.

“In a tragic accident, we will lose her, leaving her family to navigate this tremendous loss. Let’s come together to support her children during this difficult time. Any help you can provide for her funeral and the expenses ahead will be greatly appreciated. Amy, your spirit will forever illuminate our lives, and you will continue to dance in our hearts.”

Online jail records show Rollins was released on $70,000 bond. It is not clear whether he has an attorney who can speak on his behalf.
