What began as a routine food delivery in Malta ended with an unexpected act of generosity — and a surprise that left a delivery rider visibly moved.
In an Instagram video, German content creator Bartmann captured a street-side conversation with an Indian delivery rider after dropping off an order. The two exchanged names and chatted briefly about their lives, including the rider’s move from India to work abroad.
Curious about how he was managing, Bartmann asked about the rider’s living situation and monthly rent. After doing a quick calculation, the rider shared that he pays €180 per month (about $195).
Then came the question that completely caught him off guard.
“Can I make you happy? Can I pay your monthly rent?” Bartmann asked.
The rider immediately became emotional, placing a hand over his heart. Moments later, Bartmann handed him €200. Shocked and overwhelmed, the rider asked why he was doing it.
“Why not? I want to make you happy,” Bartmann replied.
The two hugged as Bartmann explained what inspired him. “You’re doing a nice job, bro. You’re bringing food to all the people,” he said, adding that people rarely stop to ask riders how they’re doing. “I want to make you happy.”
The rider later shared that in four years of delivery work, no one had ever given him that much money. Holding back tears, he thanked Bartmann repeatedly for the gesture.

Since the clip was posted, it has spread quickly online, drawing nearly 380,000 views and hundreds of comments.

“I was so overwhelmed by your kindness that it brought me to tears. I love this,” another added.
A third comment summed up the mood simply: “We need more of this.”
