Man Is Excited to Spend His Day Off Watching Movies from Home, but His Girlfriend Has Other Plans

A man who had been eagerly anticipating his day off — planning to unwind with horror movies and video games — found himself in an unexpected conflict when his girlfriend decided to stay home.

In a Reddit post, the man explained that his girlfriend had known about his low-key plans for weeks. She usually works from home and initially told him she would spend the day working in his home office or at a nearby café so he could have the place to himself.

Then, at the last minute, her plan changed.

“She’s been feeling low for a while and can get quite snappy at times,” he wrote. “Today she isn’t feeling great and mentioned she was going to work in the living room because she doesn’t want to go into town or use the home office. She said I wouldn’t be able to watch movies or play games since she needs quiet for calls.”

The man said he tried to hold his ground. “I told her if she can’t have noise, she should work in another room since I’m not canceling what I have planned. She knew what today was about — she can’t expect me to waste my day off,” he explained.

He added that his girlfriend accused him of being unfair because she needed to work, but he insisted he wasn’t stopping her. “I said I’m not stopping her from working — I’m just not canceling my plans,” he wrote.
