Man Tells Wife’s Friend to Leave Their Home After She Mocks Him, Says She’s ‘Annoying Everyone’

A man turned to Reddit for advice after clashing with his wife’s new friend, who he says has been treating his home like her own. He explained that the woman isn’t a longtime companion, but someone his wife has only recently befriended.

“My wife’s new friend is extremely annoying, she’s childish and loud,” he wrote. He admitted that if her visits were short and infrequent, he could manage, but instead she has become a near-daily fixture in their home.

According to him, the woman has been dropping by almost every day and staying for hours. “She’s been coming over every day since this month and spends hours, annoying us all the time,” he explained, describing her presence as overwhelming.

He stressed that this was not an issue with his wife’s other friends, with whom he gets along well. “I get along well with her friends, they are kind and polite and they and their husbands have become my friends as well,” he said, adding that this new friendship feels completely different.

Things came to a breaking point during a recent visit when the woman became particularly disruptive. “Yesterday I had enough of her annoying behavior so I asked her to keep her voice down,” he said. But instead of listening, she reportedly mocked him.

“She asks me ‘why would I do that’ in a mocking tone,” he recalled. At that point, he decided to be direct. “I said because she doesn’t live here and it’s my home and she’s annoying everyone.”

He then issued an ultimatum. “I asked her to keep it down or get out of my house,” he explained, insisting he wasn’t trying to be cruel but honest about how disruptive she was being.

The woman accused him of being rude, but he stood firm. “She said I am being rude to her and kicking her out, I said I am not being rude to her I am being real with her,” he said, noting that she often acts as if his house is a hotel.

Before things escalated further, his wife intervened. “She was pissed and before it escalated my wife asked her to leave,” he explained, adding that his wife seemed surprised by just how frustrated he had become.

Later, his wife acknowledged the problem. “My wife said she didn’t know that her friend was annoying us so much and she won’t let her come over anymore,” he shared, though he still wondered whether his reaction had been too harsh.

Reddit users quickly reassured him that he had done nothing wrong. Many agreed that he was right to set boundaries in his own home.

While his wife’s new friendship may have started off harmless, the husband ultimately decided that protecting his family’s comfort was more important than avoiding confrontation.
