Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene had surprising words of admiration for Rep. Nancy Pelosi, acknowledging the former House Speaker’s long and influential career in Congress.
Greene, 51, a Republican from Georgia, appeared on CNN just hours after Pelosi, 85, announced she would not seek re-election in 2027. Despite years of fierce partisanship — and Greene’s strong alignment with former President Donald Trump — she expressed genuine respect for Pelosi’s leadership.
“She had an incredible career for her party,” Greene said. “I served under her speakership in my first term of Congress, and I’m very impressed at her ability to get things done.”
Greene added, “I wish [Republicans] could get things done for our party like Nancy Pelosi was able to deliver for her party. So I wish her well in her retirement.”

Over her four years in the House, Greene has often clashed with Democrats and championed far-right positions. Recently, however, she’s taken a more unpredictable course, drawing attention for breaking ranks with Trump and what Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez described as embarking on a “revenge tour.”
Ocasio-Cortez, 36, explained Greene’s shift during an Instagram Live session on Nov. 3. “Here’s some tea for you,” she said. “MTG, people are like, ‘Oh my God, she’s saying all these things, like, what’s gotten into her lately?’… Trump said no, and the White House and Trump Land shut down Marjorie Taylor Greene’s personal ambitions to run for Senate, and she has been on a revenge tour ever since.”

Speculation about Greene’s possible Senate run grew after Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp announced in May that he would not seek a Senate seat in 2026. Greene quickly dispelled those rumors, insisting in a social media post that she had no plans to run.
Appearing on The View the following day, Greene reiterated her loyalty to Trump despite the recent tensions. “Nothing has changed about me,” she said. “I am staying absolutely 100% true to the people that voted for me, and true to my district.”
