Mark Sanchez has been dismissed from his position at Fox Sports, just one month after the Oct. 4 stabbing incident in Indianapolis.

A Fox Sports spokesperson confirmed that Sanchez, 38, is no longer with the network. “We can confirm that Mark Sanchez is no longer with the network. There will be no further comment at this time,” the representative said. Sanchez had joined Fox as a football analyst in July 2021. TMZ was the first to report news of his termination.

Sanchez currently faces one felony charge — battery resulting in serious bodily injury — along with three misdemeanor charges: battery resulting in bodily injury, unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle, and public intoxication that endangers the life of another.

The incident occurred in downtown Indianapolis on Oct. 4, when Sanchez was in town to cover the Colts game that weekend. Authorities allege he assaulted 69-year-old Perry Tole in an alley, leading to a violent altercation that left both men hospitalized with serious injuries.

According to the Indianapolis Star, Sanchez approached the door of Tole’s box truck and began speaking to the driver in an alley between the Westin and Marriott hotels. Video footage reportedly shows the driver backing away as Sanchez followed him. Police later said, “Sanchez is seen running after [the man] and the video shows Mr. Sanchez grabbing and throwing [the man] towards the wall of the Westin.” Court documents obtained by the outlet state that the truck driver told police he believed Sanchez was “trying to kill him,” and that he stabbed Sanchez in self-defense.

During an Oct. 22 pre-trial hearing, Sanchez’s attorney, Tim Delaney, stated that his client was “still recovering from the injuries he sustained in the medical intervention” following the confrontation.

Model Bobby T, Sanchez’s ex and the mother of his son, Daniel, also spoke out on Oct. 12. “Sadly, none of this is surprising to me,” she wrote on social media. “Now that everything is out in the open, my focus hasn’t changed. I have always been concerned for [Daniel’s] safety and for what he is exposed to.”

Sanchez’s family released a statement to the Indianapolis Star on Oct. 6, expressing gratitude for the support they have received. “This has been a deeply distressing time for everyone involved,” his brother Nick Sanchez Jr. wrote on behalf of the family, adding that the former NFL quarterback is “focused on his recovery as the legal process continues.”
