The death of Renee Good — the woman shot and killed by an ICE agent in Minneapolis — has officially been ruled a homicide.

Good was shot on Jan. 7 by Jonathan Ross, an ICE agent, while she was driving her Honda Pilot, according to authorities. After the gunfire, the vehicle veered into the street and crashed.

A Public Data Form from the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office lists Good’s manner of death as homicide, caused by “multiple gunshot wounds.”

A Minneapolis fire and police department incident report described responders finding Good unresponsive inside her vehicle at around 9:42 a.m. local time, with blood visible on her face and torso.

The report said she had two apparent gunshot wounds to her right chest, one apparent gunshot wound to her left forearm, and a possible gunshot wound on the left side of her head described as having “protruding tissue.” The report also noted blood coming from her left ear.

Attorney Antonio Romanucci, who represents Good’s family, released a statement after the medical examiner’s initial findings were made public, saying the family is still waiting for the full report and wants it shared with them before any additional details are released.

The medical examiner’s office has not yet released full autopsy findings.

The shooting remains under intense scrutiny and controversy. Federal officials have claimed Good attempted to weaponize her vehicle — an account that has been sharply disputed by local officials and Good’s family.

Good was a mother of three and had recently moved to Minneapolis with her partner, Becca.

Romanucci has previously represented families in other high-profile civil cases, including helping secure a $27 million settlement for the family of George Floyd.
