The Putmans are providing an update after a devastating car accident that killed and injured several members of their large family.
Three relatives, who starred in TLC’s Meet The Putmans, lost their lives, while several others sustained injuries in the crash.
In a heartfelt message shared on Instagram on Sunday, Sept. 28, the Putmans wrote, “We wanted to share an update on Noah and Gia and ask that you continue to keep them in your prayers,” referring to the two family members who are recovering.
The family offered more details, saying, “Noah is still sedated, but we are so grateful to see that he is responding to us with movement,” and added, “Gia underwent a craniotomy last night, and we are thankful to report that her care team shared some encouraging news, her brain pressure has gone down significantly.”
“Through it all, we continue to hold tightly to our faith, knowing that God has a plan and a purpose for everything. Even in the hardest moments, He is present, working in ways we may not yet understand,” the Putmans continued. “Thank you all for the continued prayers, love, and support. We feel your strength and faith surrounding us. Please keep lifting Noah and Gia up as they heal.”

On Saturday, Sept. 27, family member Isabelle revealed through an Instagram post that “Papa” Bill Putman, Neenee, and Aunt Megan had died, while “Uncle Blake, Lulu, Alena, Noah and Gia” were injured.
“We are asking for complete healing and strength for each of them,” Isabelle wrote.
Meet The Putmans originally aired for six episodes on TLC from September to October 2017, following the lives of Bill, Barb, their four children, and extended family members living together under one roof.
The reality series was later revived in 2021 as the YouTube series Growing Up Putman, with the family’s last upload occurring in January.
The Putmans directed PEOPLE to a legal representative for comment, but no immediate response was provided as of Sept. 28. TLC also did not respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment on Sept. 27.
