Meghan Markle and Prince Harry continued their Sundance Film Festival run with another appearance in Park City, Utah.

After attending a special screening of their documentary Cookie Queens on Saturday, Jan. 24, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped out again on Sunday, Jan. 25, for the film’s official premiere at the Eccles Center Theater.

Meghan, 44, and Harry, 41, posed on the red carpet alongside director Alysa Nahmias and members of the team behind the coming-of-age documentary. The film follows four Girl Scouts as they navigate the organization’s famous cookie-selling season.

On the carpet, Meghan shared her personal favorite when asked about her go-to Girl Scout cookie.

“I’m a Thin Mints,” she said, smiling. “It’s such a classic. And as a Girl Scout, it was always the one that sold the fastest, so I think you remember it for that reason too.” Asked about the longtime debate over freezing them, she added, “I don’t know if you’re supposed to, but it’s certainly a nice plus!”

Nahmias also spoke about why the story hit home for her as a parent — a point Meghan strongly agreed with.

“For me as a mom — and with my kids asking me to make a film that they and their friends would really want to watch — I hope it sparks conversations about what it means to grow up today, and opens up questions that can be difficult to have,” Nahmias said. “About the pressures that kids can feel from parents and society, especially girls — how we’re perceived, what our value is, and how we participate in the economy and in society.”

Meghan praised the director’s perspective, saying, “There’s nothing you can add to that. It’s the most perfect answer because it’s so true. That’s what she’s created with this. It’s incredible filmmaking, and I can’t wait for you to see it. I think people are going to love it.”

Inside the theater, Meghan took the stage ahead of an early-morning screening to introduce Nahmias and the film.

Thanking the audience for showing up at 9 a.m. after what she suggested was likely a late night, she joked it was “nothing that a little cookies and coffee can’t help,” before adding that she, Harry and Archewell Productions were “so proud and privileged to help support and uplift Cookie Queens.”

“Yes, it’s probably the cutest film at the festival,” she said. “But I’m also going to go out on a limb and say it’s one of the most powerful and meaningful depictions of an American tradition.”

Meghan described the documentary as a fresh look at something “rooted in nostalgia,” reexamined through Nahmias’ creative lens to reflect a modern view of the “girlhood experience,” including “all the layers and complexities that come with that.”

“So yes, it’s cute, and yes, these young ladies are fantastic and adorable,” she said, “but they are also layered, beautiful girls who are about to become very strong leaders and young women.”

Both Meghan and Harry are executive producers on the 91-minute film, which is screening in Sundance’s Family Matinee category. Their involvement was first announced in December.

The documentary was directed by Alysa Nahmias, with Archewell Productions partnering alongside Beautiful Stories and AJNA Films.

The project is also a personal one for Meghan. She was a Girl Scout while growing up in California, and her mother, Doria Ragland, served as her troop leader.

In a statement shared by Deadline, Meghan said, “As a former Girl Scout myself, with my mom as my troop leader, I have a personal affinity for this film. I’m proud that all our conversations and collaboration have led to Archewell Productions partnering with this award-winning team to executive produce this incredibly captivating documentary.”

“When we first viewed the early footage, it was immediately something we wanted to be involved in,” she added. “The creative point of view, the edgy yet humanizing tone, and the glimpse behind the scenes of such a nostalgic — and also modern — tradition of Girl Scout Cookie season are absolutely irresistible.”

Meghan and Harry founded Archewell Productions in 2020 with a mission to spotlight “thought-provoking and diverse narratives that underscore our common humanity and celebrate community” across film, television, documentaries and podcasts.

In April 2025, Meghan shared childhood photos of herself selling Girl Scout cookies while promoting the launch of her Lemonada Media podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder.

“Being an entrepreneur can start young,” she wrote at the time. “(By the way, all these years later and I’m still selling cookies!).” The reference carried extra meaning as Meghan now sells a cookie mix through her As ever lifestyle brand.
