First lady Melania Trump is stepping into the entertainment world with the launch of her own film production company.
On Nov. 28, she announced the venture with minimal promotion, sharing a brief 10-second video on her personal X account. The new company will be called Muse Films — a likely reference to her Secret Service code name, “Muse.”
In the same announcement, she reminded followers that her documentary, MELANIA, will premiere exclusively in theaters around the world on Jan. 30, 2026.
The understated rollout stands in contrast to the typically high-profile style of Trump family business announcements, which often involve major events and extensive publicity. Melania is frequently present at openings and ceremonies alongside her husband, President Donald Trump.

There are already two existing companies operating under the name Muse Films — one a Europe-based subsidiary of Amazon, and the other a U.S. company whose past credits include The Virgin Suicides, American Psycho and Spring Breakers. It is not yet clear whether Melania’s Muse Films will be affiliated with either of these entities or operate independently.
So far, the only publicly known project from Muse Films is her self-titled documentary, which Amazon MGM Studios is set to release after reportedly paying $40 million for the film. The deal was finalized shortly before the start of President Trump’s second term and around the time Amazon founder Jeff Bezos attended the inauguration.
According to Amazon MGM, “MELANIA offers unprecedented access to the 20 days leading up to the 2025 Presidential Inauguration — through the eyes of the First Lady-elect herself.”

The film promises an inside look at Melania Trump as she manages inauguration preparations, oversees elements of the White House transition and steps back into public life with her family. With exclusive footage from key meetings, private conversations and restricted locations, the documentary aims to present her return to one of the most visible roles in global politics.
The agreement with Amazon MGM also includes distribution rights for a multi-episode series to follow the documentary, further expanding the scope of her new media venture.
The documentary will be directed by Brett Ratner and will mark his first major projects since he was accused of sexual assault by multiple women, including Olivia Munn and Natasha Henstridge, as well as of outing a then-18-year-old Elliot Page. Ratner has denied the allegations.
