Mickey Rourke has launched a crowdfunding effort in an attempt to avoid eviction after falling nearly $60,000 behind on rent.

Last month, the 73-year-old actor and former professional wrestler was served with a notice demanding payment of $59,100 in alleged back rent or requiring him to vacate his Los Angeles home within three days. In response, Rourke is now seeking help from fans through a GoFundMe campaign.

The fundraiser was organized by Liya-Joelle Jones, a friend and member of Rourke’s management team, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The campaign went live on Sunday, Jan. 4, under the title “Help Mickey Rourke Stay in His Home.” It has a stated goal of $100,000 and raised just over $1,500 within its first six hours.

“Mickey Rourke is currently facing a very difficult and urgent situation: he is at risk of being evicted from his home,” the fundraiser reads. “Life doesn’t always move in a straight line, and despite everything Mickey has given through his work and his life, he is now dealing with a challenging financial moment that has put his housing at risk.”

The description adds that the fundraiser was created with Rourke’s full permission and is intended to cover immediate housing-related expenses to prevent eviction.

“The goal is to give Mickey some stability and peace of mind during a stressful time so he can stay in his home and have the space to get back on his feet,” the page continues. “Any donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference. If you’re not able to contribute, sharing this page is also a huge help. Thank you so much for your kindness and support.”

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Jones said the response to the fundraiser has been moving. “Mickey is going through a very difficult time right now, and it’s been incredibly touching to see how many people care about him and want to help,” she said.

According to court documents filed on Dec. 29, Rourke was served a notice on Dec. 18 instructing him to pay the alleged $59,100 owed to his landlord, Eric Goldie, or vacate the property within three days. The filing claims Rourke did not comply with the notice, which was posted at the residence and mailed to him after he was reportedly unavailable to receive it in person.

The home in question is a three-bedroom, 1,600-square-foot property, according to its listing on Zillow.

The documents also state that Rourke signed the lease in March 2025 at a monthly rent of $5,200, which was later increased to $7,000. In addition to the back rent, the landlord is seeking attorney fees and requesting termination of the rental agreement.

Rourke began renting the property shortly before pursuing legal action against Celebrity Big Brother UK over an alleged pay dispute following his controversial exit from the reality series in April 2025. At the time, his manager, Kimberly Hines, issued a statement asserting that the show had disrespected the actor by publicly embarrassing him and withholding payment owed.

“There’s no question that when Big Brother booked Mickey Rourke, they were fully aware of both his public persona and how it aligned with his Hollywood rebel image,” Hines said in the statement. She added that the producers knew his presence would be “explosive, controversial and attention-grabbing — and that’s exactly what they got, and more.”
