Jakkapong “Anne” Jakrajutatip, founder of JKN Global Group and a co-owner of the Miss Universe Organization, has been sentenced to two years in prison for fraud, according to a report.

The Bangkok Post reported that the Bangkok South Kwaeng Court issued the two-year sentence without suspension on Friday, Dec. 26, after finding Jakrajutatip guilty in connection with a $951,927 corporate bond investment.

Jakrajutatip reportedly did not appear in court when the sentence was handed down and remains at large, the outlet said.

A warrant had previously been issued in the case after a plastic surgeon accused Jakrajutatip in 2023 of fraud and concealing information while allegedly trying to persuade him to invest in her company, as reported by France 24 and The Independent.

The Bangkok Post said the criminal case was filed by Raveewat Maschamadol against Jakrajutatip and JKN Global Group Plc, alleging they jointly committed fraud. The court alleged that between July 24 and Aug. 8, 2023, the defendants presented false information and concealed key facts to deceive the plaintiff into investing in corporate bonds issued by JKN Global Group—despite allegedly knowing the company was in financial difficulty and would be unable to repay the investment.

According to the outlet, the defendants allegedly obtained assets worth 30 million baht from the plaintiff, causing financial damage.

The Independent previously reported that Jakrajutatip was charged with fraud and released on bail, then later failed to appear in court in Bangkok in relation to the case. Thailand’s Courts of Justice later described her as a flight risk in a statement.

Local media reports suggested in late November that Jakrajutatip had fled to Mexico. Those reports surfaced around the time Miss Mexico Fátima Bosch was crowned the winner of Miss Universe 2025 at the Nov. 20 ceremony in Bangkok.

Separately, The Associated Press reported on Dec. 5 that Mexican bank accounts belonging to Raúl Rocha—the president and co-owner of Miss Universe—were frozen as part of a criminal investigation by Mexico’s Financial Intelligence Unit, the country’s anti-money laundering office. The AP reported that Rocha has been under investigation since November 2024 on suspicion of alleged organized crime activity, including fuel theft, drug trafficking and arms trafficking, citing Mexico’s federal prosecutors.

Thailand’s Courts of Justice did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
