A San Antonio family nurse practitioner and retired Army lieutenant colonel who went missing after failing to board a scheduled flight has now been found safe, authorities confirmed.

Anita Elizabeth Gould, 56, a mother of four, was located alive in her vehicle and is believed to have experienced a medical episode, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office in Texas.

She was transported to a local hospital for medical care. In a statement, the sheriff’s office thanked the community for helping share information during the search.

Gould was last seen between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 10 — the same morning she was scheduled to fly to Georgia. By the following day at around 6:30 a.m., she was officially reported missing.

Her daughter, Kayla Miller, wrote on Facebook that the family had last heard from Gould at 9:57 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 9, expressing deep concern for her wellbeing at the time.

In a later post, Miller encouraged others to enable location sharing on electronic devices with trusted family members, noting how unexpected incidents can impact anyone.

Gould previously served 30 years in the U.S. Army, retiring as a lieutenant colonel. Her service earned her several honors, including the Legion of Merit.
