A mother of four from Illinois has been missing for a week, with no sign of her whereabouts despite an intensive multi-agency search of a nearby forest preserve.

Olasinmibo “Sinmi” Abosede, 46, was last seen on Wednesday, July 30, at about 9:20 a.m. walking away from her home on Sudbury Street in Naperville, according to a statement on Facebook from the Naperville Police Department.

When she left, Abosede was carrying a water bottle but had left her cell phone and credit cards at home. Her family reported her missing later that same day. Police say no foul play is suspected.

Following the report, officers conducted a standard search of her home and the immediate surrounding area, Naperville Police Commander Rick Krakow told PEOPLE.

On Monday, Aug. 4, authorities carried out an extensive search of Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve, where Abosede — classified as a missing endangered person — might have gone.

“It’s so large, and the conditions are so dense with the high grass, that we sought the assistance from an emergency management agency to assist us with the ground search,” Krakow explained. “That takes coordination.”

Dozens of trained volunteers, K-9 units, drones, and local law enforcement combed through the 1,829-acre preserve, located not far from Abosede’s home. Despite the efforts, she has not been found, and the search will continue.

“This is just not something that’s heard of here, where we live,” a neighbor told ABC affiliate WLS. “Having news helicopters flying over half the day is definitely a little alarming.”

“I hope they find her and provide some comfort and solace to the family here really soon,” the neighbor added. “It’s obviously very tragic and upsetting.”

Naperville Police Chief Jason Arres addressed community concerns in a statement on Facebook.

“I understand that the uncertainty surrounding Sinmi’s disappearance is concerning, and I assure you that this department is doing everything we can to find Sinmi,” Arres said. “We will continue to follow up on any leads and lean on the expertise of our partners at Naperville Emergency Management Agency and surrounding law enforcement agencies, who I want to thank for their dedicated efforts today.”

Arres urged residents to remain vigilant and share Abosede’s photo.

“The more eyes we have looking out for her, the better,” he said.

Abosede was last seen wearing a long-sleeved black Adidas jacket, gray sweatpants, a black head scarf, and black Crocs. Anyone who sees her is urged to call 911. Those with information on her whereabouts should contact the Naperville Police Investigation Division at 630-548-1421.
