A mom thought her son was just doodling something cute beside her — until she realized what he was actually drawing.
The original poster (OP) shared the story on Reddit and included a picture of her son’s work. The drawing showed two stick figures inside a circle with a line through it, along with letters scribbled across the top and another figure in the corner.
“Thought my son was being cute trying to write my name,” OP wrote in the title of her post. “Turns out he was trying to make a sign stating that I’m not allowed in his room.”
In her post, she explained, “My son kept running into the kitchen while I was making dinner asking the letters to my name, then he would run back to his room to write it. I thought, ‘Aw, he’s writing Mommy’s name.'”
But her assumption didn’t last long. “He completely shattered that idea when he asked how to write ‘no.’ When asked, he informed me that he was making a ‘no trespass’ sign for me.”
People in the comments found the whole situation hilarious. One joked about her son’s creative spelling:
“ANpRAEN? No wonder he wants you out of his room with a name like that,” the commenter teased.
OP laughed and explained, “Lol, it’s Breanna, but he swapped the letters towards the end and made a wonky B.”
Another person pointed out the sweet side of it. “Hey, little dude is practicing setting boundaries. That’s kind of cool… maybe he’ll be the one kid with an understanding of personal space and privacy.”
OP agreed, adding that she tries to encourage that lesson. “Matter of fact, what followed later was a talk about, ‘I know privacy is important, but I still need to come in here to get you a change of clothes and take your laundry and help you pick up.'”
She ended with a joke: “Also told him that if I’m not allowed in his room, he’s responsible for taking care of any bugs or spiders that find their way in. Switched up real quick after that.”
