Joely Richardson is expressing her support for brother-in-law Liam Neeson following news of his budding relationship with Pamela Anderson.
Anderson, 58, recently shared an Instagram post featuring playful and affectionate photos of herself with Neeson, 73, as they celebrated the release of their new film, The Naked Gun.
“The Naked Gun is finally in theatres! Bring your friends, family, lovers… whoever… just go and have a laugh… it’s good for you!” Anderson wrote in the August 1 caption, accompanying a series of lighthearted shots — including one of Neeson sprinkling popcorn over her head. “I’ll see you there 🤍🍿.”
In response, Joely, the younger sister of Neeson’s late wife, Natasha Richardson, showed her support by commenting with seven red heart emojis.

Joely, known for roles in The Patriot and Nip/Tuck, is the daughter of acclaimed actress Vanessa Redgrave and director Tony Richardson. She and Natasha — a Tony Award-winning actress — shared a close bond. Natasha met Neeson in 1993 when they co-starred in a Broadway revival of Anna Christie. The pair married the following year, on July 3, 1994, and had two sons together: Micheál, 30, and Daniel, 28. Natasha tragically passed away in March 2009 after suffering a head injury while skiing in Quebec.
Over the years, Joely has spoken openly about her sister’s passing. In January, she posted a nostalgic black-and-white childhood photo of herself with Natasha to mark her 60th birthday.
“Me and my sister Tasha. On my birthday people seemed astonished that I was happy to be turning sixty,” she wrote in the caption. “Why wouldn’t I be? It’s not like the numbers jumped from 25 to 60. All the years and decades in between were LIVED. Now I get to be this number and investigate how I find it. ’60 is the new 40’ people say — I say ’Why does it need to be? I did that one 2 decades ago.’”

Neeson’s connection with Anderson began while filming their upcoming comedy. According to a source close to the production, “It’s a budding romance in the early stages. It’s sincere, and it’s clear they’re smitten with each other.”
Another insider shared a similar sentiment, saying the two are simply “enjoying each other’s company” as they promote the film together.
The Naked Gun is currently playing in theaters.
