New information has been shared about a 6-year-old girl who died after a go-kart accident at an indoor adventure park in Florida.

On Saturday, Dec. 6, authorities responded to Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park in Port St. Lucie just before 9 p.m. local time following reports that a child had been hurt in a go-kart crash, according to police.

The child, later identified by her family as Emma Riddle, was airlifted to a hospital, where she died from her injuries the following day.

In audio from a 911 call released by the Port St. Lucie Police, an unidentified caller told the dispatcher that an accident had taken place.

“Someone hit them from behind. A little girl, I don’t know if she’s throwing up blood or if it’s coming from her nose, down her throat, but she’s trying to throw up,” the caller said. The person added that the girl “hit her sternum really hard” and was “kind of incoherent.”

“She’s breathing, she’s here…but I think we need medics right away,” the caller continued.

As the dispatcher reassured them that help was on the way, the caller — who at one point could be heard speaking to the child’s mother — said they were “trying not to scare mom and her other sister.”

The family had gone to the park to celebrate Emma’s sister’s birthday, according to a GoFundMe page set up to support them.

“Our hearts are broken as we share the passing of our beloved daughter Emma, who left us far too soon in an unexpected accident while joyfully celebrating her sister’s birthday at an amusement park,” the family wrote. “Full of life, love, and light, Emma touched every soul she met.”

In a statement shared with CBS News, a spokesperson for Urban Air said the company is “heartbroken by the tragic accident.”

“Our deepest sympathies go out to the child’s family and loved ones,” the representative said, according to the outlet. “Our policies, procedures and equipment are designed to keep children and families safe, and the well-being of the children and families we serve is always our top priority. Our team responded immediately, and emergency personnel arrived on-site. We are working with state and local authorities as their investigation moves forward.”

The GoFundMe page notes that a celebration of life is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 13, at a chapel in Port St. Lucie.

“She was adored by all who knew her and loved God with all her heart,” a message on the fundraiser reads. “Her faith was strong, her spirit radiant, and her kindness unmatched.

“Though her time with us was far too short, Emma filled every moment with laughter, compassion, and warmth,” the statement continues. “She will forever remain a precious daughter, sister, friend, and a cherished gift from God.”

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
