A U.K. mother whose body was found in a lake after she was last seen buying groceries this summer died an “unnatural” death, authorities have said.

Rachel Booth, 38, was reported missing in the early hours of July 19 after her family last saw her in the village of Barnton in the Northwich area, Cheshire Constabulary said.

CCTV footage showed Booth at a gas station around 3:50 a.m. on the day she disappeared.

Police later found a body in a lake in nearby Oakmere on July 21 and confirmed it was Booth.

Her death was ruled “unnatural,” according to a hearing at Cheshire Coroner’s Court in Warrington on Wednesday, Sept. 3, coroner’s officer Paul Downey said in an email to PEOPLE.

Booth was identified by her sister, according to the hearing, and was referred to as Rachel Langley during the inquest.

“Given that an unnatural cause of death has been identified on the post-mortem, it is appropriate for me to formally open the inquest,” Coroner Victoria Davies said, according to the BBC.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Coroner’s Court told PEOPLE that “information regarding the official cause of death will be available upon the inquest’s conclusion,” set for Jan. 27.

Cheshire Constabulary said in July that “there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”

Booth had three children, according to ITV. The gas station where she was last seen was about five miles from where her family had last seen her.

A gas station worker told The Sun that Booth bought wine and milk at 3:50 a.m. after going for a 45-minute run.

“It didn’t seem weird, she didn’t seem disturbed or flustered,” the worker said.

ITV reported that two underwater search units arrived at the Delamere Lake Holiday Park, next to Wild Shore Delamere water park, the morning Booth’s body was found.

After Booth’s death, her family said in a statement released by police: “[W]e would also like to offer our sincere thanks and appreciation to all the services and businesses that supported Cheshire Police and their officers during the search for Rachel.”

“Rachel, who was known to us as Helena, was a cherished member of our family,” they added. “She was a guiding light whose strength, love, and devotion touched us all. Her kindness was constant and her presence a strength to everyone she knew, a loving mother, wife, daughter, and sister who can never be replaced but will always be present in our hearts.”

“Her absence leaves a space, but her smiles are a memory we will treasure,” the family concluded.
