After authorities were seen swarming a residence near Nancy Guthrie’s home late at night, police said no arrests have been made.

Police officers and vehicles descended on an area about two miles from Nancy’s Tucson, Arizona, home and the site of her abduction on the evening of Friday, Feb. 13. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department confirmed only that the heavy law enforcement presence was connected to the 84-year-old’s disappearance.

The next morning, Saturday, Feb. 14, a department spokesperson said no arrests were made and shared additional details about the late-night operation.

According to the spokesperson, investigators executed a federal, court-ordered search warrant at a residence near East Orange Grove Road and North First Avenue after receiving a lead in the case. A traffic stop was also conducted, and an individual was questioned, but no arrests resulted. The spokesperson said no further information was available.

A neighbor, David Curl, told The New York Times that the home searched belongs to an older woman who lives with her adult son. He said the woman appeared distraught and spent the night at his home while investigators searched her residence.

“She had no idea what they were asking about,” Curl told the outlet. “She had no information about the disappearance or any idea why they were focusing on their house.”

The New York Times also reported that authorities—including sheriff’s deputies and FBI personnel—converged on a gray Range Rover in a nearby Culver’s parking lot on the evening of Feb. 13. The outlet reported that investigators photographed the vehicle and had it towed.

Nancy, the mother of Today show co-host Savannah Guthrie, was last seen at her Tucson home on the night of Jan. 31. Her family reported her missing around noon on Feb. 1.

The search warrant was executed the same day authorities announced that DNA evidence not belonging to Nancy or her close contacts had been collected from the property. Investigators said they are working to identify the DNA and have not disclosed where it was found.

Police have also said blood matching Nancy’s DNA was discovered on the exterior porch of her home, and that gloves and other items are undergoing forensic testing.

The FBI has released surveillance footage showing a masked, armed person appearing to tamper with a Nest camera at Nancy’s front door on the morning of her kidnapping.

Ransom notes connected to the case have reportedly been sent to multiple media outlets. The FBI has said the notes are being investigated and that investigators are not aware of any communication between the alleged kidnappers and the Guthrie family.

The FBI is offering a $100,000 reward for information that leads to Nancy’s recovery or an arrest.
