An Ohio man has been indicted after a road rage encounter escalated into a terrifying home invasion, leaving a woman and her family shaken, according to authorities in Clermont County.
Seth Schlueter, 30, faces multiple felony charges including aggravated burglary, burglary, assault, aggravated menacing, operating a vehicle under the influence, and endangering children, following a July 11 incident that began with a honk and ended in violence.
According to the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office, the ordeal began when a woman honked at Schlueter while attempting to drive around his stopped vehicle on State Route 727, near the Stonelick Park Dam northeast of Cincinnati. Schlueter, apparently enraged by the honk, followed the woman home to Wayne Township.
Deputies say Schlueter showed up at the woman’s home around 5:30 p.m., where he confronted her husband on the front porch. Fearing for her safety, the woman fled to the backyard as her husband tried to defuse the situation.
Schlueter, reportedly intoxicated and with his own children in the car, allegedly removed his kids before breaking into the couple’s home without permission, causing property damage in the process.
When the homeowners returned from the backyard, they discovered Schlueter inside. Police say he punched the husband in the face, then fled the scene with his children. The male victim suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Schlueter was later located and arrested at a nearby convenience store. Initially, the charges were dismissed by a municipal court due to jurisdiction limits, but a grand jury re-indicted him on the same charges in Clermont County Common Pleas Court.
He remains in custody at the Clermont County Jail on a $200,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court again on August 1.
