Amid rising regional tensions, Iran has once again issued a stark warning to Israel and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, signaling it is ready to respond forcefully to any future aggression.

On Friday, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, declared that Iran has finalized plans for a “decisive retaliation” should fresh attacks occur. The response, he said, could be so severe that “even the United States may not be able to save Netanyahu.

According to the Tasnim news agency, Mousavi emphasized that the retaliatory measures were fully prepared under directives from Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, but had not been enacted due to the current truce.

“If they attack Iran again, they will see what we are capable of doing,” Mousavi warned.

Tensions Spike Following U.S. Strikes

The warning comes in the wake of U.S. military strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities in Isfahan, Natanz, and Fordow on June 22. The U.S. launched the strikes as part of its involvement in the 12-day conflict between Iran and Israel.

While former President Donald Trump claimed the campaign, dubbed “Operation Midnight Hammer,” had permanently crippled Iran’s nuclear ambitions, leaked Pentagon documents and statements from Iranian officials suggest otherwise.

In response, Iran launched retaliatory missile attacks targeting U.S. military bases in Qatar and Iraq.

Ceasefire Follows Escalation

After the exchange of strikes, Trump called for a ceasefire between Iran and Israel, which was enacted following a deadly round of mutual attacks. The recent flare-up has left approximately 900 people dead in Iran and 29 in Israel, as Israeli strikes targeted key military and nuclear sites inside Iran.

While a fragile truce currently holds, Mousavi’s latest comments underscore Tehran’s readiness to reignite the conflict if provoked.
