Despite renewed attention on the Jeffrey Epstein case, President Donald Trump’s approval among Republican voters continues to rise, according to new polling data.

CNN’s chief data analyst Harry Enten expressed surprise at the numbers, noting that social media backlash hasn’t dented Trump’s standing within his party. “You might think his approval ratings were going down with Republicans — if anything, they’re going up,” Enten said, citing recent surveys from CNN and Quinnipiac.

CNN’s latest poll shows Republican approval for Trump increasing from 86% to 88%, while Quinnipiac’s numbers rose from 87% to 90%.

“He is at the apex, or close thereto, in terms of his popularity with Republican voters,” Enten added.

Enten also pointed out the disconnect between online outrage and real-world voter concerns. “On X, all you hear about is the Epstein files,” he said, “but in the public polling? Just one Republican respondent listed the Epstein issue as the most important problem facing the country.” He credited colleague Ariel Edwards-Levy for spotting the data.

“That’s why Trump’s approval hasn’t suffered,” Enten explained. “Most Americans — including Republicans — just don’t see it as a top issue.”

Trump, for his part, has dismissed the renewed Epstein scrutiny as a political smear. In a recent Truth Social post, he slammed what he called the “Jeffrey Epstein Hoax” and accused “Radical Left Democrats” of orchestrating another distraction campaign. Trump also took aim at former allies who have joined the criticism, writing, “I don’t want their support anymore.”
