Prince Harry has reportedly proposed sharing his official schedule of engagements with the royal family—an apparent effort to reduce friction following years of strained relations.
According to The Mail on Sunday, the move could foster greater transparency, helping to prevent overlap or perceived attempts to overshadow events involving senior royals. The outlet notes that Harry’s recent trip to Angola garnered significant media attention, reportedly overshadowing coverage of Queen Camilla’s 78th birthday.
This exchange of diaries might also pave the way for a potential meeting between Prince Harry and King Charles III. The two last saw each other in February 2024 when Harry made a brief trip to the U.K. following the public announcement of the King’s cancer diagnosis. After a short visit at Clarence House, Harry returned to California the next day.
When contacted by PEOPLE, a spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex declined to comment.

The report comes after a July 9 meeting in London between two of Prince Harry’s aides and King Charles’ communications secretary. According to a source who spoke to PEOPLE, “It was a good first step,” adding, “It is always better to be talking.”
While palace sources have described the exchange as a standard meeting between staff, others view it as a potentially meaningful re-opening of communication between father and son after a long period of estrangement. “It’s a positive step,” the insider said. “There’s optimism that it can be taken forward.”
In a May interview with the BBC, Prince Harry expressed a desire for peace. “I would love reconciliation with my family,” he said. “There’s no point in continuing to fight anymore,” adding, “I don’t know how much longer my father has,” in reference to the King’s health challenges.
Despite the hopeful signs, Prince William and Princess Kate were reportedly not informed of the London meeting, reflecting continuing tension between the brothers. According to a friend quoted by the Daily Mail, “It’s no coincidence that William and Catherine did not have a representative at the Royal Over-Seas League. They were not asked to send anyone and will be treating the talks with extreme caution.”
The friend added, “The fact that it ended up in the newspapers tells you all you need to know.”
