Ray J is updating fans on his condition after a recent hospital stay.
The singer was hospitalized earlier this month after contracting pneumonia and experiencing heart pain, according to Daily Mail. On Sunday, he posted an Instagram video thanking supporters for the prayers and messages he received while dealing with the health scare.
“I want to thank everybody for praying for me,” Ray J said. “I was in a hospital. My heart’s only beating like 25 percent, but as long as I stay focused and stay on the right path, everything will be all right.”
He added, “My health is not okay, so I thank everybody for supporting and praying for me.”
In a recent Instagram Live that was later reshared on X, Ray J said, “2027 is definitely a wrap for me,” claiming doctors told him he will not live long. He also said his heart had turned “black,” which he attributed to alcohol and drug abuse, and admitted he had felt “invincible.”

TMZ first reported that Ray J was admitted to a hospital in Las Vegas on Jan. 7 due to severe pneumonia and heart pain. A source close to the singer told the outlet he underwent X-rays and an echocardiogram, though no results were disclosed.
Ray J previously faced another bout of pneumonia in 2021 and was hospitalized in Miami for treatment. At the time, his longtime manager David Weintraub said the pneumonia was not contagious and doctors wanted to keep him a few extra days for observation. Weintraub also confirmed the singer did not have COVID-19, despite initially being placed in a COVID unit. During his treatment, Ray J reportedly used oxygen and an inhaler to help support his breathing.
In a message shared through Weintraub, Ray J said: “I appreciate all the love and support from everybody. Thank you for keeping me in your prayers, and I will be back up and running soon.”
