As she discussed her planned resignation from Georgia’s 14th congressional district, Marjorie Taylor Greene weighed in on Don Lemon’s arrest during an on-air appearance.

On Friday’s episode of Real Time with Bill Maher, Greene said she “completely support[s] his arrest” after Lemon was indicted Thursday for reporting on an anti-ICE protest at a Minneapolis church earlier this month.

Greene told Maher she believes Lemon “violated the FACE Act,” arguing that he “went into a church, disrupted their worship,” and later compared churchgoers to white supremacists during an interview.

“That’s not journalism, that’s activism,” Greene said.

She added that she doesn’t view “going in and harassing people in the middle [of] church” as protected speech, and claimed Lemon previously visited her office with a “Tesla Takedown” organizer—an encounter she said led her staff to call Capitol Police.

Fellow panelist Joe Scarborough pushed back, saying the arrest appeared designed to intimidate journalists and discourage coverage of what he described as ICE’s ongoing violence in public.

Greene responded by criticizing disruptions during religious services. “I think it’s bullsh*t to disrupt church,” she said. “I don’t think Christians should be harassed in church, especially by activists and reporters.”

On Friday, Lemon was released from custody on a no-cash bond. Speaking outside the Los Angeles courthouse afterward, he thanked supporters and said he planned to continue reporting.

“I have spent my entire career covering the news. I will not stop now,” Lemon said. “In fact, there is no more important time than right now this very moment for a free and independent media that shines a light on the truth and holds those in power accountable.”
