A newly released video appears to show the tense moments leading up to the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good by a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent in Minneapolis on Wednesday, Jan. 7.

The footage, shared on X on Jan. 9 by Alpha News and described as being from the agent’s perspective, captures an escalating confrontation near Good’s SUV. In the clip, Good is in the driver’s seat of a vehicle positioned perpendicular to the roadway as the person recording moves around the SUV.

“That’s fine dude. I’m not mad at you,” Good can be heard saying. Her wife, Becca Good, is also recording on her phone and appears to address the same person from outside the vehicle. “And just so you know, it will be the same plate when you come talk to us later. That’s fine,” Becca says, before adding, “You want to come at us? Go get yourself some lunch, big boy.”

Moments later, a voice is heard shouting repeated commands: “Get out of the car. Get out of the car. Get out of the f—ing car.”

As Becca reaches toward the passenger door, Renee is seen reversing and then turning forward toward the roadway. Becca can be heard urging, “Drive, baby, drive — drive!”

Multiple gunshots then ring out. After the shots, a voice says, “F—— bitch.” It is not clear who said the phrase or who it was directed at. The clip ends with what sounds like a crash.

Separate bystander videos of the incident show the agent—later identified as Jonathan Ross and wearing a mask—firing multiple shots into Renee’s vehicle, including from the driver’s side front window, before the SUV crashes.

ABC News reported, citing city officials, that Renee, a 37-year-old mother, suffered gunshot wounds to the head. She was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said Good refused commands to exit the vehicle and then attempted to run over federal agents, calling her actions a “domestic act of terrorism,” according to CBS.

Vice President JD Vance wrote on X on Friday that the Alpha News video shows the agent’s life was “endangered” and that he “fired in self-defense.”

Local officials, however, disputed that characterization, saying the publicly available video does not support it.

“They are already trying to spin this as an action of self-defense,” Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey said at a press conference. “Having seen the video for myself, I want to tell everybody directly, that is bulls—. This was an agent recklessly using power that resulted in somebody getting killed.”
