Real Housewives of Potomac alum Mia Thornton was arrested in Atlanta on Wednesday, Nov. 19.
Thornton, 40, was taken into custody by Atlanta police at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and booked into the Fulton County Jail “without incident,” according to the Atlanta Police Department.
Authorities said she was arrested due to an active warrant tied to a larceny case involving an alleged furniture theft.
A police report obtained by reporters states that a property management company contacted officers on behalf of a condo owner who had rented the unit to Thornton. The report alleges that furniture was removed from the property “in the middle of the night” on Oct. 28.
The former landlord claimed that “the tenants also took all of the furniture which was in the unit prior to their move in as well as the tv which was on the wall.”
The property listed as missing was valued at about $11,000, according to the report. Thornton has not publicly commented on the arrest.
In April, Thornton announced she was leaving RHOP after four seasons and relocating to Atlanta. In a lengthy Instagram post, she said she had “made the decision to relocate to Atlanta” with her family and, as a result, “will not be returning to The Real Housewives of Potomac next season.”
She described the move as a “new beginning,” calling her time on the Bravo series “an unforgettable journey… filled with growth, lessons, and so many incredible memories.”
Thornton also thanked Andy Cohen and Bravo for “believing in me and giving me the space to share my story,” and expressed appreciation for her castmates and supporters.
Teasing what’s next, she wrote that “big things are coming,” adding, “I don’t just make headlines — I make History. Atlanta, brace yourself. The empire has expanded. #LegacyInTheMaking.”
