Rob Reiner and His Wife Michele Were Found by Their Daughter

Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele, were found dead inside their Los Angeles home by their daughter, Romy, according to multiple sources.

The sources say the couple was killed by their son, Nick.

The Los Angeles Fire Department received the first calls about the incident at around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14. First responders arrived at the home and discovered a man and a woman deceased. The victims were later identified as Rob and Michele.

Nick has previously spoken publicly about a long struggle with drug addiction, including a period when he was homeless. In a 2016 interview, he said his years battling addiction helped shape the semi-autobiographical film Being Charlie, which he co-wrote.

Rob was a director, producer and actor who first rose to prominence playing Mike on Norman Lear’s sitcom All in the Family. He later directed a string of widely known films, including This Is Spinal Tap (1984), Stand by Me (1986), The Princess Bride (1987), When Harry Met Sally… (1989), Misery (1990) and A Few Good Men (1992).

Rob and Michele met while he was directing When Harry Met Sally…. They married in 1989 and later had three children.
