Newly released images show the moment Nick Reiner was taken into custody in connection with the deaths of his parents, Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner.
In the photos, Nick, 32, is seen being handcuffed by police during an arrest on Sunday, Dec. 14. He is wearing a green, white, and black tracksuit jacket with blue jeans and a black cap. Another image shows him on the ground as multiple officers stand nearby.
The photos surfaced after ABC7 Eyewitness News aired CCTV footage showing Nick shortly before the arrest, including a stop at a gas station to buy a drink, on Tuesday, Dec. 16.

Nick has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, with a special circumstance allegation involving the use of a deadly weapon, such as a knife. Rob, 78, and Michele, 70, were found dead inside their Los Angeles home on Sunday, Dec. 14. According to sources familiar with the situation, the couple’s youngest child, their 27-year-old daughter Romy, discovered the bodies.

The Los Angeles Fire Department said it responded to a medical call at about 3:30 p.m. local time on Sunday. The victims were later identified as Rob and Michele.
The Los Angeles Police Department later confirmed Nick as a suspect. He was arrested after 9 p.m. Sunday—more than five hours after the couple was found. An LAPD spokesperson said the arrest took place near the University of California campus. Nick is being held at Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles.
Sources previously said Rob and Nick had a “very loud argument” at a party hosted by Conan O’Brien the night before the alleged killings. One source described Nick as behaving erratically, repeatedly asking people whether they were famous.

Rob and Michele married in 1989 after meeting while he was directing When Harry Met Sally. Together, they had three children, and Rob also adopted Tracy, 61, the daughter of his ex-wife Penny Marshall.
In addition to When Harry Met Sally…, Reiner directed films including This Is Spinal Tap and A Few Good Men, and appeared on the sitcom All in the Family.
