Rosie O’Donnell’s long-running clash with President Donald Trump resurfaced after the Kennedy Center board voted to rename the venue “The Donald J. Trump and The John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts.”
In a TikTok video shared with her 2.9 million followers, the comedian and former talk show host spoke from Ireland, where she now lives, and introduced a new way of referring to Trump—declining to say his name and instead repeatedly calling him “It.”
O’Donnell titled the post “Saturday Night Ramble” and began by talking about her Christmas celebrations before turning to the Kennedy Center decision.
“The Kennedy Center debacle. It has gone too far. It is seriously unwell. It needs to be removed from office. It, the nameless blob of negative energy. It,” O’Donnell said.
The video is the latest entry in O’Donnell’s yearslong public criticism of Trump, which has continued even after her move overseas. In an earlier interview, O’Donnell said she had promised her therapist—on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving—that she would avoid posting about Trump for two days, but she broke that commitment within hours, according to reporting that described her as unable to resist addressing him.
O’Donnell has also said the intensity of her focus on Trump contributed to her decision to leave the U.S.
The White House has previously responded to O’Donnell’s remarks. White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson told Fox News Digital at the time: “Rosie O’Donnell clearly suffers from a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, and it’s better for the entire country that she decided to move away.”
