Russian state TV host Vladimir Solovyov has commented on recent rumors about President Donald Trump’s health.

Solovyov, who is close to Vladimir Putin, spoke on Russia 1 after several days of false speculation online claiming Trump had died because he had not been seen in public for a while.

Trump quickly shut down the rumors, writing on Truth Social that he has “never felt better.”

Why It Matters

Trump has long been a popular subject on Russian state television, especially after his meeting with President Vladimir Putin in Alaska was praised in Moscow as a win for Russia. The mention of false health rumors shows just how far speculation about Trump had spread.

What To Know

The false reports about Trump’s death started circulating on social media on Friday. Trump mocked the claims in a post on Truth Social.

Solovyov’s Sunday night show mostly focused on the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, where Putin and Chinese leader Xi Jinping promoted moving away from a U.S.-led global order.

He said the gathering of Xi, Putin, and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi reflected a major shift in world politics away from Europe and the U.S. He also mocked Trump’s failed attempts in the past to pursue big ambitions like buying Greenland, Canada, or even the Panama Canal.

In a clip posted by Russian media watcher Julia Davis, Solovyov suddenly switched topics to mention the health rumors. He noted speculation that “Trump has a bruise on his hand,” comparing it to how Britain’s queen had a bruise before her death.

“That’s it, Trump is gone,” Solovyov joked, adding that although videos showed Trump playing golf, he claimed they were old—without proof.

He also pointed to comments from U.S. Vice President JD Vance, who said he was ready to take over if something happened to Trump. Solovyov suggested Vance “must know something.”

Putin himself has been the subject of many similar health rumors, which the Kremlin has always denied.

What People Are Saying

  • Russian TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov: “The whole world is saying that Trump has a bruise on his hand. The British queen also had a bruise and then she died. Everybody dies. Whether they have a bruise or not, people are mortal.”
  • President Donald Trump on Truth Social: “NEVER FELT BETTER IN MY LIFE.”

What Happens Next

Trump’s post may have stopped the latest wave of online rumors, but Russian state television is expected to continue making him a frequent topic.
