Kelley Wolf was arrested late Tuesday, Aug. 26, on suspicion of electronic communication harassment and the electronic disclosure of personal identifying information.

The Real World: New Orleans alum, 48 — currently navigating a difficult divorce from actor Scott Wolf — was taken into custody at her rented home in Summit County, Utah.

She remains in the Summit County Jail, a public information officer confirmed to PEOPLE. Formal charges have not yet been filed, and she has not appeared before a judge, meaning bail has not been set. It is also unclear whether she has retained legal representation.

Electronic harassment — sometimes referred to as cyber harassment — involves repeated use of electronic communications to target someone with threatening, intimidating, or harmful behavior. This can include persistent unwanted messages, posting damaging claims, or disclosing private information without consent. When it includes releasing personal data such as addresses, phone numbers, or financial records without authorization, the act is often described as “doxxing.”

Such actions are generally intended to cause fear, distress, or anxiety and can fall under harassment, privacy, or stalking laws, making those responsible subject to criminal prosecution.

Before her detention, Kelley addressed her situation on Instagram Stories. “The police are at my house to arrest me. I have no idea why,” she wrote. “Deputy Norton said I must comply and I will.” She added: “I am not suicidal. I am no danger to anyone. I have done nothing. I am so scared. So confused.”

In the days leading up to her arrest, Kelley shared a series of confrontational Instagram posts. Many included personal information about friends and family members — including Scott, 57 — alongside accusations and insults. Some posts also featured communications involving the couple’s three children.

These actions appear to have violated the most recent temporary stipulated agreement between the estranged couple. Signed by a Utah judge on Tuesday, the updated order — originally stemming from a July 15 decision and revisited during an Aug. 4 hearing — includes a gag order prohibiting both Scott and Kelley from posting online or speaking to the press about one another, their children, or their ongoing divorce. It also bars either parent from making disparaging remarks to the children, whether verbally or in writing.

Scott and Kelley, who were married for 21 years before separating in June, share three children: Jackson, 16, Miller, 12, and Lucy, 11. Scott filed for divorce on June 10. Under the current agreement, he has temporary sole physical custody and decision-making authority. Kelley has supervised parenting time and is permitted three supervised video or phone calls each week. She may also respond if the children initiate further contact.

In an Aug. 15 statement to PEOPLE, Scott addressed what he described as false accusations by Kelley, calling them “completely baseless and incredibly dangerous.” He also shared text messages in which Kelley allegedly admitted she planned to “make claims” against him in order to influence custody proceedings.

Scott said he disclosed those messages publicly “so there are no questions about her intentions, or the malicious intent behind her false allegations made and/or planned for the future.” He added: “I hope that anyone who might speak publicly or report on such things, will consider this before spreading any further information from a clearly unreliable and completely compromised source. I continue to ask for privacy and respect for our family, and give thanks to all those who have shown their love and support.”

Responding to Scott, Kelley told PEOPLE: “I will be very clear when I say this: I don’t believe that Scott would [abuse our children].”

She added: “I’ve lost my career, my reputation, my children, my integrity, my honor, my devotion to my marriage. As a parent, I have literally lost everything except my life. I’ve done everything strategic, and I’m hopeful for my children.”
