Sofía Vergara is recovering from another knee surgery and sharing the journey with her fans.
The 53-year-old Modern Family star took to Instagram on July 25 to post photos from her hospital bed, revealing she had undergone her second knee operation. Though she didn’t disclose the reason for the procedure, she appeared upbeat in the post.
“It’s done! Round 2 🙏🏼❤️❤️ #knee,” Vergara captioned the images.
In one shot, Vergara smiled softly while resting her head on her hand, dressed in a hospital gown with no makeup. A second image showed her bandaged right leg with a brace secured around her shin.
Celebrity friends flooded the comments with well wishes. America’s Got Talent co-judge Terry Crews wrote, “❤️❤️❤️ proud of you!” Lauren Sánchez Bezos sent hearts, and Patrick Schwarzenegger commented, “Wishing you speedy recovery !!!!”
Vergara previously underwent knee surgery in April 2024 and joked at the time about her then-boyfriend, orthopedic surgeon Justin Saliman. “If u ever get a [major] knee surgery make sure u get a handsome doctor who will sleep with u that night…! Luv u,” she wrote in an Instagram Story, referencing Saliman, whom she dated for over a year before their January 2025 split.
Since then, Vergara has been linked to retired NFL star Tom Brady. The two sparked romance rumors after being spotted together aboard the Ritz-Carlton yacht during a glamorous Mediterranean getaway. In one photo, singer J Balvin kisses the top of Vergara’s head while Brady sits beside her, smiling at the camera.
According to Page Six, the pair have been spending time together in Ibiza, with one source describing their connection as a “summer romance.” “He asked to switch seats to sit next to her at dinner,” the source revealed.
Despite her surgery, Vergara appears to be in high spirits and surrounded by support, both online and off.
