Tara Reid was removed from a Chicago-area hotel on a stretcher after an apparent medical situation.
Paramedics moved the American Pie actress, 50, from the lobby of a DoubleTree hotel to a nearby ambulance early Sunday morning, Nov. 23, according to video obtained by TMZ. The unsettling scene was captured by an onlooker.
A spokesperson for Rosemont Public Safety confirms that a call for an ambulance came in from the hotel at 12:39 a.m. on Nov. 23 for “a sick person” and that the patient was transported to a hospital.
In video from the incident, several people can be seen assisting a visibly disoriented Reid into a wheelchair in the lobby. At one point, tension flares between a man holding Reid upright and another trying to steady the chair.
“We’re going to take you to your room, okay?” a uniformed man tells her after helping her into the chair, as Reid looks around, appearing confused and slurring her words.

Later footage shows paramedics arriving on the scene after an unspecified period of time. Three paramedics are then seen escorting Reid, who is strapped to a stretcher, out of the hotel.
According to the onlooker who recorded the video, Reid could be heard saying before paramedics arrived, “You don’t know who I am. I am famous. I’m an actress.”
“Tara Reid has filed a police report after an incident in which she believes her drink was tampered with,” Reid’s representative said in a statement. “She is cooperating fully with the investigation. Tara is recovering and asks for privacy during this traumatic time. She also urges everyone to be careful, watch your drinks and never leave them unattended, as this can happen to anyone. She will not be making further comments at this stage.”
However, police say that Reid has not yet filed a report.
In March, the actress made a rare red carpet appearance at the Los Angeles premiere of the Indonesian horror film Pabrik Gula. She has several projects in development, including The Dreamer Cinderella, and most recently appeared in the 2023 vampire film Bloodthirst.
Reid has also spoken openly in recent years about public scrutiny of her appearance, particularly after viewers of season 2 of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test — along with some celebrities such as Billy Bush — criticized her for being “too skinny.”
“If we were overweight then they can’t say anything because that’s bullying. But it’s the same thing if you’re skinny. That’s still bullying too,” she said in 2023, in an interview with the Los Angeles Inquisitor.
