More people tuned in to watch the first hour of Taylor Swift’s interview on the “New Heights” podcast than the first hour of Donald Trump’s “Joe Rogan Experience” appearance. However, Trump’s episode is still leading in overall views.
Trump vs. Swift Feud
Trump has often attacked Swift since she opposed his presidency and supported Biden in 2020 and Harris in 2024. In August, he called her “woke” and said she was “NO LONGER HOT” while praising actress Sydney Sweeney. A Navigator Research poll later showed Swift’s popularity with Republicans dropped 22% in two years.
In August 2024, Trump also re-shared AI-generated images falsely suggesting Swift supported him, writing: “I accept!” After Swift endorsed Harris, he told Fox & Friends he wasn’t a fan. He also mocked her in February after she attended the Super Bowl, saying she was “BOOED out of the Stadium” on Truth Social.
Swift’s Album Announcement
Fans had been waiting for Swift’s next project after her team teased a “new era” earlier in the week. On Tuesday, she revealed her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, at exactly 12:12 a.m. The album, with 12 songs, was recorded in Sweden during breaks on her Eras Tour. She described it as joyful, dramatic, and “effervescent.”
Swift showed the album cover on “New Heights,” making it one of her longest and most open interviews. The YouTube stream glitched after one hour and 45 minutes, but the full episode was later posted.
