A teenage driver accused of killing a marathon runner in a drunken hit-and-run has now entered guilty pleas to multiple homicide charges after prosecutors said she admitted to heavy drinking before the crash.
Addison Bowell, now 18, pleaded guilty in Dunn County, Wisconsin, to homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle, homicide by vehicle under the use of a controlled substance, and homicide by use of a vehicle with a prohibited alcohol concentration, according to online court records cited by WEAU and WQOW.
A fourth charge — hit and run involving death — remains open, the outlets reported.
Bowell is charged in the March 29, 2025 death of Ann Seidl, 54, who was struck while running along County Highway Y in the Town of Dunn and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to WEAU, WQOW, and WKRC.
According to the criminal complaint, Bowell’s mother called 911 after discovering Seidl in a roadside ditch. She told investigators her daughter came home intoxicated around 6:15 a.m. and said she believed she may have hit another vehicle. The mother reported seeing damage to Bowell’s car and later noticed Seidl while leaving for work, according to the outlets.
Authorities said Bowell, who was 17 at the time, later admitted she had been drinking at a friend’s house before the crash but claimed she was not drunk. Investigators reported finding multiple empty cases of alcoholic beverages and an empty bottle of vodka in the trunk of her vehicle.

A preliminary breath test showed Bowell’s blood alcohol concentration at .114 — above Wisconsin’s legal limit of .08, according to WKRC and WEAU.
When questioned by police, Bowell told officers she had “a lot” to drink, WQOW reported. She also allegedly said she knew she hit something but “didn’t really care,” adding that she already had “like 16 underages,” according to the outlet.
Court records show Bowell’s $100,000 cash bond has been revoked, WEAU and WQOW reported.
A trial on the remaining charge is scheduled for the week of June 22, 2026, with a final pretrial hearing set for May 14. Sentencing on the homicide convictions is expected to take place after that trial concludes, according to the outlets.
