Carroll County, Georgia — A Georgia teenager accused of murdering her mother and stepfather is at the center of a chilling case that has drawn national attention—not just for the crime itself, but for the emotional social media posts she shared in the days and weeks following their deaths.

Sarah Grace Patrick, now 17, has been charged with two counts of murder and two counts of aggravated assault in connection with the February 20 deaths of Kristin Brock, 41, and James Brock, 45. Authorities say the couple was found shot to death in their bed inside their Carrollton home, west of Atlanta.

At the time of the killings, Patrick was 16 and inside the home. She was the one who called police, claiming her 5-year-old sister had discovered the bodies.

Investigators said there were no signs of forced entry or robbery, prompting suspicion early on. A lengthy investigation eventually led to Patrick’s arrest last week. According to Carroll County officials, “mountains of physical and digital evidence” were gathered, including material from her social media.

Emotional TikToks Raised Eyebrows

In the weeks following the murders, Patrick posted multiple videos to TikTok expressing apparent grief and disbelief. In one video, she shared old photos of Kristin and James alongside emotional music, with overlaid text reading:

“They don’t know it, but a year from now me and my 5-year-old sister would find them wrongfully shot dead in our home — and they won’t get to watch me graduate high school, see me walk down the aisle, or even say goodbye.”

The caption beneath the video read: “I miss you guys, save a seat for me in heaven.”

In another widely shared TikTok, Patrick appeared tearful, with mascara running down her face. A caption read: “Life’s hard, but at least I have my mom.” The clip then cut to a photo of two urns beside an image of the couple, captioned simply: “Mom?”

Other posts featured images of Patrick looking distraught, with messages like “This can’t be real. Otw [on the way] to my parents’ funeral.”

In one particularly haunting post, she wrote about her guilt over her younger sister discovering the bodies:

“I can’t help but hate myself because I didn’t wake up to find them before my 5yo sister had to find her parents like that.”

Another read: “It hits me when I see my 5-year-old sister screaming for her mommy and daddy.”

Despite the heartfelt tone of the posts, some family members later questioned their authenticity. James Brock’s niece, Krysten Dowda, said the emotions at the funeral seemed “fake,” noting that Patrick appeared to cry without shedding actual tears.

Patrick’s TikTok account has since been deactivated, but several of the videos have resurfaced online in light of her arrest.

Community in Shock

Kristin and James Brock were described by friends and neighbors as a devoted couple. Their deaths and the shocking allegations against Sarah Grace Patrick have left the Carrollton community reeling.

Following her arrest, Patrick’s father, Doniel Patrick, publicly supported his daughter in a Facebook post:

“I’ll always be in your corner,” he wrote. “Never doubt your place in this world. You were sent here with purpose, wrapped in grace, and born to shine in ways only your soul knows how.”

Patrick, who is being charged as an adult, remains in custody as the case moves forward. Authorities have not yet revealed a possible motive.
