This Is Not Me’: Trump Denies Epstein Birthday Letter, Threatens to Sue Wall Street Journal

President Donald Trump has strongly denied allegations that he sent a birthday letter to Jeffrey Epstein in 2003, dismissing the claims as “fake” and threatening legal action against The Wall Street Journal for publishing the story.

Trump: “Never Wrote a Picture in My Life”

In an interview with the Journal, Trump rejected the report, which claimed he contributed a graphic letter as part of a birthday album organized by Ghislaine Maxwell for Epstein’s 50th birthday. The letter reportedly featured typewritten text framed by the outline of a naked woman, drawn in thick marker, and concluded with the line:

“Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret.”

Trump, however, called the story fabricated:

“This is not me. This is a fake thing. It’s a fake Wall Street Journal story,” he said.
“I never wrote a picture in my life. I don’t draw pictures of women. It’s not my language. It’s not my words.”

The president also threatened legal action:

“I’m gonna sue The Wall Street Journal, just like I sued everyone else,” Trump declared during the interview, conducted before the article’s publication.

Musk Defends Trump Despite Past Clashes

Tech billionaire Elon Musk, who had a recent public falling out with Trump, came to the president’s defense in response to the letter allegations. Posting on X, Musk wrote:

“Yeah, the letter sounds bogus.”

Earlier this year, Musk had claimed Trump was named in the so-called “Epstein Files” detailing the disgraced financier’s alleged crimes. While Trump has faced increasing pressure — even from within his own base — to release those files, he recently deferred the responsibility to Attorney General Pam Bondi.

Background: WSJ’s Explosive Report

According to The Wall Street Journal, Epstein’s close associate Ghislaine Maxwell curated a birthday scrapbook that included notes from friends and high-profile figures. Trump’s alleged contribution stood out due to its provocative tone and illustration.

The letter, the report claims, was signed simply: “Donald.”

The White House has not issued an official statement beyond Trump’s remarks. Meanwhile, critics continue to question both the timing and sourcing of the Journal’s story, as Trump’s allies rally around him amid the controversy.
