Travis Kelce has been fined for unsportsmanlike conduct after making an “obscene gesture” during a game.

The incident happened on Sunday, Sept. 14, when Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs played the Philadelphia Eagles at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo.

Kelce, 35, made the gesture after a 23-yard reception. He was seen running down the Eagles’ sideline while gesturing toward his groin.

Video of the moment quickly spread across social media.

According to NBC Sports, the league fined Kelce $14,491. He has the option to appeal the fine through the official process.

PEOPLE reached out to representatives for Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, Sept. 21, but did not receive immediate responses.

Meanwhile, Eagles running back Saquon Barkley was fined $46,371 in the same game for “impermissible use of the helmet/launching.” He appeared to lower his helmet before making contact with Chiefs safety Chamarri Conner.

The Chiefs lost the matchup 20-17, marking their second straight loss after falling to the Los Angeles Chargers the previous week.

Kelce also spoke about the earlier Chargers loss on the Sept. 10 episode of his New Heights podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother, Jason Kelce.

“I know it sounds like a broken record from last year’s Super Bowl, but that’s on us as leaders,” he said. “I’ll take the most accountability myself. I wasn’t ready for that first drive.”
