Donald Trump and Attorney General Pam Bondi are facing mounting backlash from within the MAGA movement after promising bombshell revelations about the Jeffrey Epstein case—only to walk away with nothing new.
On Monday, the Justice Department announced there was no evidence of a “client list” tied to Epstein’s sex trafficking network and confirmed that no additional files would be released. The DOJ memo concluded that there was “no credible evidence” Epstein blackmailed powerful individuals, contradicting months of hyped-up claims from Trump-aligned figures, especially Bondi, who had previously told Fox News she had such a list “sitting on [her] desk.”
Now, MAGA loyalists—already simmering with distrust—are furious. Some have taken their outrage to symbolic extremes, burning their red MAGA hats in protest.
Far-right influencer Nick Fuentes, once a dinner guest of Trump’s at Mar-a-Lago, posted on X:
“We need to burn our MAGA hats. That’s the only language Trump will understand. He needs to be abandoned at this point.”
He added: “Now he’s telling us there’s no Epstein black book, no client list. The radical right is furious. We are done.”

In another clip circulating online, a longtime Trump voter from 2016 and 2020 is seen torching his MAGA merchandise, outraged over what he sees as betrayal and cover-up. Images from that video have gone viral.
The backlash comes after Bondi had spent weeks teasing new revelations tied to “Phase 1” of the Epstein files. In February, a handpicked group of far-right media figures was invited to the White House to review folders marked “Declassified” and “The Epstein Files.” But the contents largely duplicated documents already available to the public, leaving even die-hard Trump supporters disappointed.
Following the lackluster document drop, Bondi claimed more explosive material was coming and said officials were reviewing a “truckload” of FBI files. She accused the Biden administration of previously withholding documents and pledged transparency under Trump.
“Sadly these people don’t believe in transparency,” Bondi said in a March interview. “More unfortunately, I think a lot of them don’t believe in honesty.”
But critics now say those promises were hollow. The failure to deliver concrete evidence or new revelations has further eroded trust among the MAGA base, with many accusing the Trump administration of stringing them along for political gain.
As the fury spreads, it underscores a growing rift between Trump loyalists and far-right activists who once formed the core of his most vocal support. With the Epstein case becoming a lightning rod for conspiracy and frustration, what was once political fuel for the movement is now turning into fire—quite literally.
