President Donald Trump on Thursday launched a harsh Thanksgiving tirade against Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, using an offensive slur referring to people with intellectual disabilities and accusing the Democratic governor of mishandling crime and immigration in the state.

In an extended Truth Social post, Trump argued that immigration is driving crime across the country and putting pressure on public services. He singled out Minnesota as an example, claiming that “Somalian gangs are roving the streets” of what he called a “once great state.”

Offering what he framed as a Thanksgiving message, Trump wrote that he wished “a very Happy Thanksgiving” to Americans who had allowed the country to be “divided, disrupted, carved up, murdered, beaten, mugged, and laughed at” because of what he described as being “Politically Correct” and “just plain STUPID” on immigration.

Trump went on to say that the nation’s roughly 53 million foreign-born residents are largely “on welfare, from failed nations, or from prisons, mental institutions, gangs, or drug cartels,” arguing that American taxpayers are unfairly burdened. He further claimed that a migrant earning $30,000 with a green card receives “roughly $50,000 in yearly benefits for their family.”

Describing what he called a “refugee burden,” Trump blamed immigration for a range of issues, including crime, urban decline, hospital overcrowding, housing shortages and rising deficits.

Turning back to Minnesota, Trump alleged that “hundreds of thousands of refugees from Somalia are completely taking over” the state and claimed that Walz “does nothing” about it. He said residents are afraid to leave their homes as “Somalian gangs are roving the streets looking for ‘prey,’” and referred to Walz with an offensive slur, saying the governor fails to act “either through fear, incompetence, or both.”

Walz responded on X, sharing a screenshot of Trump’s post and writing: “Release the MRI results.”

Indiana state Senator Michael Bohacek, who has a daughter with Down syndrome, condemned Trump’s language as “insulting and derogatory,” emphasizing that the president’s words carry real-world impact.

“I have been an unapologetic advocate for people with intellectual disabilities since the birth of my second daughter,” Bohacek said. “This is not the first time our president has used these insulting and derogatory references and his choices of words have consequences. I will be voting NO on redistricting, perhaps he can use the next 10 months to convince voters that his policies and behavior deserve a congressional majority.”

In the same post, Trump also lashed out at Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., calling her the “worst congressman/woman in our Country.” He mocked her religious attire and suggested, without evidence, that she “probably came into the U.S.A. illegally,” claiming that “you are not allowed to marry your brother.” He accused her of doing nothing but “hatefully complain” about the United States and its Constitution, while disparaging her country of origin as “decadent, backward, and crime ridden,” and asserting that it is “essentially not even a country” due to a lack of functioning institutions.

Trump’s comments came shortly after a Thanksgiving Eve shooting in Washington, D.C., that left one West Virginia National Guard member dead and another critically injured.

The suspect in that case, Rahmahullah Lakanwal, is an Afghan national who reportedly worked with a CIA-operated unit that fought the Taliban on behalf of the United States and helped evacuate people during the fall of Kabul under then-President Joe Biden, according to Fox News Digital.
