Donald Trump has once again turned his attention to late-night television, this time going after Seth Meyers in an early morning Truth Social post on Wednesday, Aug. 27.

At 1:56 a.m., the president blasted Meyers, writing: “There is a sick rumor going around that Fake News NBC extended the contract of one of the least talented Late Night television hosts out there, Seth Meyers.”

Trump, 79, continued: “He has no Ratings, Talent, or Intelligence, and the Personality of an insecure child. So, why would Fake News NBC extend this dope’s contract. I don’t know, but I’ll definitely be finding out!!!”

His comments came despite Deadline reporting back in May 2024 that NBC had already extended Meyers’ deal through 2028. PEOPLE reached out to NBC for comment.

Meyers, 51, frequently jokes about Trump on Late Night With Seth Meyers. Just last week, he mocked the administration’s meeting with the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia, quipping: “Oh my god, he wants a Nobel Peace Prize so bad, he’s just going through countries alphabetically!”

The criticism comes only a month after Trump openly celebrated the cancellation of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

On July 17, Colbert announced that CBS would end the long-running program after more than three decades. The decision drew speculation about political influence, as Colbert had recently criticized Paramount, CBS’ parent company, for donating millions toward Trump’s planned presidential library while seeking approval from his administration for a merger with Skydance.

In a statement, CBS stressed the cancellation was “purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night” and unrelated to ratings or content. The show had remained a consistent leader in its time slot and was recently nominated for its ninth Emmy for Outstanding Talk Series.

Days later, on July 22, Trump claimed on Truth Social that Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon would soon be dropped as well. “These are people with absolutely NO TALENT, who were paid Millions of Dollars for, in all cases, destroying what used to be GREAT Television,” he wrote. “It’s really good to see them go, and I hope I played a major part in it!”

Trump’s latest round of posts followed his surprisingly upbeat remarks about the engagement of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. During a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, he said: “I wish them a lot of luck. I think he’s a great player and a great guy, and I think she’s a terrific person, so I wish them a lot of luck.”

The sentiment stood out, as Trump has repeatedly criticized Swift in the past, often posting all-caps rants about her political endorsements. Earlier this month, he wrote: “Just look at Woke singer Taylor Swift. Ever since I alerted the world as to what she was by saying on TRUTH that I can’t stand her (HATE!). She was booed out of the Super Bowl and became, NO LONGER HOT.”
