Tucker Carlson has revealed that he recently conducted a high-stakes interview with Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian, pressing him on whether the country is pursuing war with the United States or Israel in the aftermath of escalating tensions and U.S. airstrikes.

The former Fox News host announced on X that the interview, recorded remotely and conducted through a translator, will be released in the coming days. The timing is critical, coming just weeks after the U.S. launched a “bunker buster” bombing campaign on Iran’s Fordow nuclear facility — a move former President Donald Trump declared had “obliterated” Iran’s nuclear future.

However, intelligence assessments have since challenged that claim, estimating the damage only delayed Iran’s nuclear capabilities by several months to a year. Carlson acknowledged the conflicting narratives, stating he intentionally avoided asking Pezeshkian questions he believed wouldn’t get truthful answers.

“I asked: ‘What is your goal? Do you seek war with the United States? Do you seek war with Israel?’” Carlson said, adding, “I didn’t ask if their nuclear program was totally destroyed — because we know we won’t get a straight answer.”

Iran Responds on Nuclear Intentions

According to Carlson, Iran’s president reiterated that the Islamic Republic is not seeking to develop nuclear weapons, though it will continue nuclear research. The interview is expected to provide rare insight into Iran’s posture amid rising tensions and questions over whether a broader conflict could erupt.

June saw multiple Israeli airstrikes on Tehran, further destabilizing the region. Trump declared victory after brokering a ceasefire following 12 days of conflict between Israel and Iran — only for both countries to accuse each other of breaking the agreement within 24 hours.

Carlson Eyes Netanyahu Interview Next

Carlson also revealed he’s made a third formal request to interview Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The Israeli leader is expected to travel to Washington next week for talks with Trump, though it’s unclear whether he will agree to speak with Carlson during the visit.

The upcoming interview with Iran’s president is likely to reignite debate over U.S. policy in the Middle East, especially as Trump’s administration continues to contradict its own intelligence community over the success of the recent bombing campaign.

Carlson concluded his post by promising “raw answers to difficult questions” — and said the final edit of the interview will be released “very soon.”
