Former Vice President Kamala Harris is sharing her perspective on her historic 2024 presidential campaign in a forthcoming memoir titled 107 Days—a reference to the brief but intense period during which she ran for the White House.

The book, scheduled for release on September 23, will offer a behind-the-scenes look at Harris’s whirlwind bid for the presidency following President Joe Biden’s decision to exit the race and endorse her on July 21, 2024. Harris’s campaign lasted just 107 days before her concession to President Donald Trump on Election Night in November.

“In writing this book, one truth kept coming back to me: sometimes, the fight takes a while,” Harris said in a statement. “But I remain full of hope, and I remain clear-eyed.”

In a video announcing the project, Harris described the campaign as “intense, high-stakes, and deeply personal.”

“Just over a year ago, I launched my campaign for President of the United States. 107 days traveling the country, fighting for our future—the shortest presidential campaign in modern history,” she said.

Published by Simon & Schuster, 107 Days is framed as a gripping, candid memoir that blends personal narrative with political insight. Harris reflects not only on her time on the trail but on the broader implications of the moment for the country’s future.

“I believe there’s value in sharing what I saw, what I learned, and what it will take to move forward,” she said.

Simon & Schuster CEO Jonathan Karp praised the memoir as one of the most compelling works of political nonfiction the publisher has ever released. “It’s an eyewitness contribution to history and an extraordinary story,” Karp said.

According to the publisher, the book reads like a “page-turning novel,” offering readers an inside look at both the emotional and strategic challenges of her run.

The release comes just one day after Harris announced she will not be running for governor of California in 2026—an early signal she may be keeping her political options open for a possible 2028 presidential campaign.

Harris’s last major public appearance during the campaign came on November 6, 2024, when she delivered a concession speech at Howard University in Washington, D.C., telling supporters: “It’s going to be okay.”

107 Days is now available for preorder wherever books are sold.
