The brother and sister-in-law of Virginia Giuffre, one of the most well-known accusers of Jeffrey Epstein, appeared on CBS Mornings following news that Ghislaine Maxwell is seeking clemency from the Trump administration.

According to a CNN report, Maxwell’s attorney sent a letter requesting immunity in exchange for her testimony before the U.S. House Oversight Committee, while also appealing to President Donald Trump for clemency.

Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year sentence for *** trafficking. However, the Bureau of Prisons recently confirmed she had been transferred to a minimum-security facility in Texas.

Giuffre, who died by suicide in April, had previously described Maxwell as “vicious” and “worse than Epstein” during an interview with CBS.

Speaking with Gayle King on Wednesday, Aug. 6, Giuffre’s brother Sky Roberts and his wife Amanda Roberts voiced strong opposition to any leniency for Maxwell.

“Survivors are saying no. No to leniency, no to a pardon,” Sky Roberts said, directly addressing the Trump administration. “Will you silence them again?”

Both Sky and Amanda stated they would be willing to testify before Congress on Giuffre’s behalf.

In July, Maxwell met with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, and has since been subpoenaed to appear before Congress. However, she indicated she would invoke her Fifth Amendment rights unless granted immunity from prosecution.

President Trump has not commented publicly on the clemency request. Still, Sky Roberts expressed concern over Maxwell’s recent prison transfer.

“I think it makes you question if there are any backdoor deals going on,” he told King. “For her to be moved to a minimum-security prison … it’s highly convenient that after she had these conversations with various members of the administration, there now seems to be some sort of preferential treatment.”
