Kim Kardashian is facing criticism from fans after showing off her Christmas gift-wrapping style — with some calling it “wasteful” and telling the reality star to “get a reality check.”
The Kardashian/Jenner family is known for turning holiday gift-wrapping into a yearly competition, with each member trying to outdo the others. This year, Kim, 45, revealed a luxury tartan theme featuring stacks of presents wrapped in thick fabric and finished with bows.
But the display didn’t impress everyone online. Some viewers argued that Kim’s wrapping choice felt excessive — and unnecessary.
One person wrote on social media: “Kim I love you down but fabric on fabric is SO wasteful.”
Another added: “Kim needs a reality check if she thinks she’s above typical wrapping paper.”
Others were even more blunt, with one saying: “This is so unnecessary I’m crying,” while another asked, “Why not just use normal paper?”
Last year, Kim’s sister Kendall Jenner claimed she usually takes the top spot in the family’s unofficial wrapping contest. Kendall showed off burgundy-and-white striped wrapping paper paired with matching velvet bows.
In a video for Architectural Digest, Kendall, 30, explained: “Anyone who kind of follows our family knows that we kind of have a Christmas wrapping competition going on every year.
“I feel like I am – the last three years running – probably the winner. I think it’s probably gonna happen again this year.
“I love it. It’s just chic and gorgeous – kind of simple, but I love it.”
Kim didn’t agree with that assessment at the time. She said their mom, Kris Jenner, deserved the win after using custom wrapping paper printed with portraits of each family member.
Kim wrote on Instagram: “Okay, I think my mom wins on the Christmas wrapping this year. How cute is this?
“It’s very easy to see whose gift is whose. Love that, how cute.”
