A late-night buffet on a Carnival Cruise turned chaotic when a fight reportedly sparked by chicken tenders broke out among passengers.
Around 20 guests were involved in a violent altercation early Monday morning as the ship was returning to Miami from the Bahamas, according to the New York Post. The brawl erupted in the dining area around 2 a.m.
Footage shared online shows passengers kicking, punching, and wrestling on the floor while security staff scrambled to break it up. Shoes were scattered across the ground, with some people caught in headlocks as others threw punches. A few passengers stood on their chairs to record the chaos, while bystanders shouted for security as the scene escalated.
Content creator Mike Terra captured the fight on video and posted it to Instagram, remarking, “Over chicken tenders is crazy.” He later told the New York Post that the exact cause was unclear but confirmed tensions flared as passengers lined up for food.
According to The Irish Sun, three security guards rushed to the scene. One called for backup while the others tried to separate the fighters. The clash lasted several minutes before order was restored. Witnesses said most of those involved appeared to be under 30, many likely in their early 20s.
This isn’t the first time a Carnival Cruise has faced such disruptions. The Irish Sun previously reported that in April, a major fight broke out as passengers disembarked from a week-long Caribbean trip, leading to 24 people being banned from the cruise line. Last year, another viral brawl on a Carnival ship was said to have started over a slice of pizza.
The latest incident occurred aboard the Carnival Sunshine, which had departed Miami last Thursday, visited the Bahamas, and was returning to Florida when the fight happened. Carnival Cruise Line has not issued an official statement, and it remains unclear what consequences the passengers involved will face.
