President Donald Trump on Monday escalated his warnings toward Iran, vowing to eliminate any renewed efforts at nuclear enrichment just weeks after U.S. forces struck three of Iran’s key nuclear facilities.

Speaking during a joint press conference with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer at the Trump Turnberry golf resort in Scotland, Trump blasted Tehran’s vow to continue enriching uranium for what it claims are civilian purposes.

“Iran is sending very bad signals—very nasty signals,” Trump said. “Their commitment to nuclear enrichment is not just dangerous, it’s stupid. We wiped out their nuclear capabilities once, and if they try again, we’ll do it faster than you can wave your finger.”

Trump made clear that any resumption of Iran’s nuclear program would be met with immediate force.

“We’ll do it again—gladly, openly, and completely,” he said. “They took a beating, and I don’t think they even realize it.”

Iran Reaffirms Right to Enrichment

The president’s remarks come as Iran prepares for talks with the UK, France, and Germany later this week. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi recently doubled down on the country’s right to pursue uranium enrichment.

“Our enrichment is so dear to us,” Araghchi said, framing it as a national achievement earned through years of scientific effort. Iranian officials described the upcoming talks as “serious, frank, and detailed.”

Background: U.S.-Iran Military Escalation

On June 22, U.S. forces launched coordinated strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites in Fordow, Esfahan, and Natanz, following a 12-day Israeli military campaign against Iran-linked targets. In retaliation, Tehran fired missiles at the Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar, the largest American military installation in the region.

Despite Iran’s claims of success, U.S. and Qatari officials confirmed that all incoming missiles were intercepted, with no casualties or major damage reported.

As tensions remain high in the region, Trump made it clear Monday that his administration would not hesitate to act again if Iran resumes its nuclear ambitions.

“We know what they’re doing, and they know we’re watching,” Trump said. “They should think very carefully before making the same mistake twice.”
