Whoopi Goldberg surprised her co-hosts on The View during Monday’s (June 9) episode when she claimed the public feud between former President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk is staged.
Following a lively discussion among the panel about the recent online exchanges between Trump and Musk, Goldberg expressed her skepticism. “I love that you all bought into it,” she said. “I do believe it’s fake—it’s too strategic.”
Her comments were met with silence from the panel, a stark contrast to the spirited debate that had just taken place.
Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin pushed back, saying, “It’s not fake. You’re giving them too much credit.”
Goldberg stood firm, arguing the feud was a distraction from more pressing issues. “They lie all the time. This feels like another distraction to keep us focused on them instead of what actually matters.”
Ana Navarro disagreed, calling the spat genuine and describing both Musk and Trump as “so legitimately crazy.”
Goldberg concluded by saying, “I don’t believe anything they say anymore. They’ve proven themselves to be untrustworthy.”
Meanwhile, Sunny Hostin found the feud more humorous than alarming. “Watching the president of the United States bicker with the richest man in the world on their own platforms—it’s just messy,” she said. “And they say women are too emotional to run the country? Okay.”
