A Florida woman is facing serious charges after allegedly stabbing a former friend in the face and later boasting about the assault on Instagram Live.

The victim, whose identity has not been publicly disclosed, survived the attack and personally reported the incident to law enforcement.

Shakia Jenkins, 29, was taken into custody last week in connection with the July 15 altercation in Miami, Florida, according to Miami City police.

A criminal complaint obtained by Law&Crime and reviewed by PEOPLE states that the victim told police she met Jenkins online in 2023. The two became close until their friendship reportedly ended following an argument during a Valentine’s Day party in 2024.

The confrontation escalated on July 15 when both women encountered each other at a dance club in Miami Gardens, just north of Miami. A verbal dispute ensued, and after being removed from the venue, they agreed to meet elsewhere in Miami for a physical fight.

During that meeting, the alleged victim told police she was physically attacked and felt a “sharp object stabbing” her in the face, according to the complaint.

Following the assault, she drove to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office to report the incident. The investigation was later transferred to the Miami City police department, officials told PEOPLE.

As part of the evidence, the victim provided video footage of Jenkins on Instagram Live, where she is allegedly seen bragging about the stabbing while hurling insults.

“I stabbed that ho, call me Chucky and call me Michael Myers,” Jenkins allegedly says in the video.

Although the full duration of the Instagram Live video remains unclear, investigators say it included repeated threats aimed at the victim. The footage has since been removed from Jenkins’ account.

Authorities also reviewed a TikTok video in which Jenkins allegedly claimed she tried to stab the woman in the brain. In another clip, she reportedly expressed an intent to shoot her.

In one screen recording presented to investigators, Jenkins allegedly said, “I’m mad, I don’t even have an appetite. I thought that ho was going to be the appetizer.”

Jenkins was arrested on Friday, August 1, and is now facing charges including first-degree attempted murder, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and making written or electronic threats to kill or cause bodily harm, according to online court records reviewed by PEOPLE. She has entered a plea of not guilty
